Interviewing Now for summer 2012 Mesiner Acting Intensive

The Gately/Poole Acting Intentives are designed for promising young actors and professionals who prefer concentrated conservatory style training to conventional, long-term programs. This approach to training allows professional actors the opportunity to continue to pursue a career while honing and developing their skills.

The Gately/Poole Acting Conservatory
is a unique conservatory-style program for training actors in the Meisner Technique. Traditionally Meisner Studio Training spans two years which doesn't always address the needs of today's young actors who are already in the process of pursuing and booking professional work.

Acting Intensive Curriculum: Students rigourously train in the canon of the technique 8-10 hours a day, 5-6 days per week with master teachers. Cirriculum includes acting, voice, speech, movement, on-camera acting, scene study, and guest artist workshops.

Acting Classes
This trendsetting approach was developed by Master Teachers, Kathryn Gately and Richard Poole, who identified through their association with talent agents and managers the need for short term conservatory training. Over the past 30 years Gately and Poole have founded and developed a number of esteemed training programs for actors in both the United States and Europe.

This summer The Gately/Poole Acting Conservatory is offering its first module in Acting Teacher Certification. The conservatory's approach to passing on and preserving the teaching legacy of Sanford Meisner's pedagogy and method of training actors includes new and enhanced exercises to bring the Meisner method forward to the next generation of acting teachers and actors.

The Gately/Poole Meisner Program combines a comprehensive overview of the guiding principles and step-by-step progression of the exercises known as the "The Meisner Acting Technique" developed by Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse. This advanced year of training for teachers created by Kathryn Gately and Richard Poole integrates new exercises and breakthrough innovations, both in technique and in more advanced pedagogy of scene study and characterization.

This advanced program will cover the entire canon of Sanford Meisner’s first and second year work, as well as the innovative techniques in advanced scene study and characterization developed by Kathryn Gately and Richard Poole over the last 30 years. sanford meisner
